Austrian Research Programme Project Orientation [international] Wins IPMA Award - Research Report now Available!

Reported by Renate Prantner in Vienna

Companies, industries, and nations are becoming more project-oriented as management by projects creates competitive advantage for these social systems. It was the objective of the research programme project orientation [international], performed by the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, to analyse the maturity of about 200 project-oriented companies of 7 nations (Austria, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and South Africa).

The analyses were performed by applying the maturity models “project-oriented company mature” and “project-oriented society mature” of Roland Gareis. The results from the analyses were the basis for the definition of strategies to further develop the participating project-oriented companies and nations.

For the research performed the IPMA-International Project Management Association - honoured Roland Gareis and the research team at the IPMA World Congress in Cracow with the award “Outstanding Research Contribution” Eva Füssinger, the project manager of the national research project “project orientation [austria II]”, has furthermore been awarded the first “IPMA Young Researcher Award Winner 2007”.
