Featured Project: The longest bridge in Ecuador
On November 2, Ecuador opened the longest bridge built in the country's history. The project was called Bridge “Las Caras” and brings together two populations: San Vicente and Caraquez Bay in the province of Manabi.
The bridge, with a length of 1.980 meters and 13 meters wide, had an investment of $ 102.5 million. The project included two travel lanes, a bike path, a walkway and resting places for tourists.
According to Ricardo Zambrano, Project Manager at the Ministry of Transportation: "This work marks a milestone in Ecuador, it is also a turning point between before and after the Ecuadorian civil engineering." Mr. Zambrano highlighted the work done by the Civil Engineer Corps of the Army, responsible for the construction of this important work, in which Ecuadorian technology was used.
