The topics of meetings in March 2010 were:
“Getting the Most Bang for the Buck” by Caroline Gormley – Caroline explained how Project Portfolio Management can be used on a departmental or enterprise basis to propose projects, align them with business drivers, select projects on the “efficient frontier” for the business, forecast resource needs, transform the proposals into executable projects, and manage the portfolio of projects, resources, and assets successfully.
“7 Harnessing the Power of Project Management, A CEO perspective” by Wes Balakian – According to Wes Balakian, Author, PMP and CEO of Dallas-based True Solutions, Inc., “Probably 90% of problems in business have to do with lack of communication. Now more than ever, there are so many opportunities for human beings to misunderstand each other. Emails, phones, instant messaging... we just can't seem to live without all of the technological methods of communication. That means there is an endless number of ways our messages can be interpreted and, as a result, misinterpreted, says the author.”
