Project Management Update from France

Let’s have a look on Project Management associations’ program. What happened last month and what will happen in the following months?

Society of Project Management – SMaP

SMaP will welcome you on Thursday 5 March at 18:00 for an evening seminar. : "Maîtrise d'ouvrage", Project Management from an owner point of view. This lecture will be led by Christian Altier, Head of Project Management at SNCF.

As each evening seminar, the conference will be held at the amphitheatre of the IAE de Paris, 21 rue Broca, Paris.

These evening conferences are free; you need nevertheless to register yourself.

Project Management Institute – French Chapter

On February 19th was held the first Tips & Tools section of the PMI South of France French Riviera chapter about the estimation technique "Function Points" in Sophia Antipolis.

The Business Forum French Riviera awaits you on March 19th at the Agora-Einstein (Cari Event) Sophia-Antipolis. You will deal with “Communication in all
its forms”.

Let’s then meet in March 26th at Europôle Arbois for PMI South of France Forum (co-organized by PMI, AFIM and Pôle Risques) on « Building well to maintain well… ». The event will be divided into two Tool & Tips and will lay emphasis on the value of integrating the ease of maintenance in the design and study of the project.

Thibaut Goupil

Based in La Ciotat

Mr. Thibaut Goupil is an International Correspondent
for PMForum and PM World Today in France. Living inLa Ciotat (close to Marseille, on the Mediterranean coast), he is currently also a project management consultant based in Paris, providing consulting services for a major chemical company in Lyon. From
managing smalls projects, to scheduling / cost control / cost estimation of remote and multi-cultural mega capital projects, and project control management on a multiple-location R&D program as a deputy program manager, Mr. Goupil has gained experience in the engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and shipbuilding industries. Thibaut holds a Masters Degree in Project and Programme Management from ESC Lille (PMI® GACPM accredited programme), a Graduate Diploma in Business Engineering from Euromed Toulon (ESCT) and a degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering (DUT GMP) from Toulon University in France. He also studied Economics at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and completed a
postgraduate course in Project Management at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). The PRINCE2 Practitioner certification achieved in 2006, Mr. Goupil is also a certified CAPM from PMI®, and CPMA from AFITEP/IPMA. He is a member of Paris Chapter and South of France Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and the Association for Project Management (APM) in the UK.
