Introduction
The press is still dominated by finance crisis scenarios and in discussions with clients, colleagues, and friends it takes only a short time till the arguments are moving around to this topic. The Federal Council of Germany approved the economic stimulus package by the end of February. Now the appropriate projects identified as large infrastructure projects are planned and the education sector seems to take a benefit out of the situation.

PMI Chapter News
PMI Frankfurt Chapter (PMIFC) had its yearly strategy meeting in January to discuss the chapter’s direction, ideas and issues they need to solve in 2009. It was a very fruitful meeting focusing at teaming as the board has three new members since beginning of 2009.
The next chapter meeting is planned March 30th in the FRANKFURT SAVIGNY hotel, in Frankfurt, the program is in preparation. The chapter has started a discussion whether to demand for a meetings fee as the size of the meetings is growing.
The next Regular Table Heidelberg is planned April 4th to exchange project management news and stories.

Manfred Rieck, MBA, PMP, is an International Correspondent for www.pmforum.org in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Rieck is Manager at IBM Corporation for IT-Business Development and Project Delivery in the finance, automotive and public sectors and holds an IBM Senior Project Manager certification. He was previously Program Manager in IBM’s Project Management Center of Excellence (PM/CoE) responsible for EMEA. Mr. Rieck is specialized on recovering critical complex projects in international environments and on the development and implementation of change management programs. Manfred has a Master of Science in Computer Science from University Bonn, Germany and is enrolled in the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) program at Henley Management College, UK. His research investigates change management studies. He is also a member of the 2007 PMI® Leadership Institute Master Class.
