It’s my great pleasure to be involved with PMForum, and this is my first report, which brings you news, views and affairs from the bottom corner of the world – New South Wales in Australia.
PM Profession News
Sydney hosts two world class authorities on project management during April.
Michel Thiry, the leading authority on project-based organizations (PBOs) presented a two day Master Class entitled: “Project-Based Organization: An Emergent Organization Model”. The event was held at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) on 30-31 March. Michel will also be running further portfolio and program management classes for students at UTS over the next seven days.
At the same time, Dr Ginger Levin, a world-renowned SME, will present two workshops on PMI credentials. A 2-day PgMPSM workshop on 2-3 April forms part of the Sydney Chapter’s initiative to promote a higher take-up of the Program Management credential. This workshop will be followed by a one-day overview on the OPM3® credential. While in Sydney, Dr Levin will also address a PMI Sydney Chapter breakfast on guidelines for project success with virtual teams. Further information on all these events is available on the Sydney Chapter website.
