Originally centred on the London Branch, the national rollout has been strongly supported by it Steering Committee under the chairmanship of Carol Bell. Eleven of the 12 UK Branches have appointed an Inspire Representative to the Steering Committee to co-ordinate Inspire-branded activities, launch events for the Inspire initiative have been held in six Branches; Scotland, South Wales & West of England, South East with Thames Valley, North West and North East - and a further three launch events are scheduled to take place before Easter 2008 in Yorkshire/North Lincolnshire, Wessex and Northern Ireland Branches. According to APM’s latest newsletter, variety is the key to Inspire events; the tenets of the APM Body of Knowledge are disseminated via seminars, workshops, masterclasses, site visits and social interaction with effective communication being a recurring theme. Inspire is also actively participating in APM's drive to develop an international dimension; a member of the IPMA Young Crew sits on the APM Inspire Steering Group and a Branch and Steering Group member represented APM Inspire at the 2007 IPMA Conference in Poland. Ongoing sponsorship from PMP Professional enables Inspire to offer APM qualifications to members at a reduced rate to encourage them to progress up the career ladder. Individual events are frequently sponsored by APM Corporate members and hosted by Higher Education Institutions, enabling APM to strengthen its ties with key stakeholders. Central events planned for 2008 include the popular two-day student challenge in April and, in July, a national forum for Branch Inspire representatives and a half-day congress for Inspire members from all over the UK culminating in a spectacular summer social at the House of Lords. In the autumn there is the chance to attend the IPMA Young Crew conference in Rome. In addition, local events are planned at Branch level in support of the National roll out.
