Update on April DYNAMICS 2008 Reported by Ahmet Taspinar in Istanbul The DYNAMICS 2008 Project Management Conference team in Istanbul, Turkey has announced latest news relate to the conference in Istanbul, scheduled for April 4-5, 2008. According to latest reports, the DYNAMICS 2008 Project team has established a weekly meeting program to finalize the speakers, presentations schedules and publicity materials. Status update is as follows: SPONSORSHIPS: Four sponsors, including PMI College of Performance Management, have signed up and five more are expected to sign before mid-March. There are also a number of supporting sponsors who are contributing publicity and marketing services.
REGISTRATIONS: Fifty registrations are expected by the early bird deadline of March 7th, as well as an equal number of student registrations. The attendance goal of 300 is being revised upward to 400 thanks to high levels of interest being expressed by some leading companies in the financial and telecommunications sectors. SPEAKERS: In addition to three leading College of Performance Management members, speakers from Europe, Australia and the Middle East have committed to making presentations. Some leading municipalities of Turkey will be making presentations on their approach to Strategic Planning and Annual Budget Performance CONGRESS LOCATION: THE MARMARA in Taksim, at the heart of Istanbul, has reserved 20 rooms at special congress rates for DYNAMICS 2008 attendees. To register, contact www.dinamikler.org Special Project Track at Accounting Congress, Reported by Miles Shepherd in London A special track for projects has been established for the Accounting in New Technologies Conference to be held in Cracow in September. The track includes a keynote address by well known project theorist Prof Anders Söderholm from University of Umeå, Sweden and is chaired by Professors Sonja Gallhofer and Jim Haslam from UK’s University of Dundee. To be held in the spectacular Wawel Royal Castle in Cracow 15 – 16 September, the conference promises some interesting themes that many project managers will find useful in their practice.

Selected papers from the conference will be published by C.H. BECK Publishers in two volumes, one titled 'Rachunkowosc w otoczeniu nowych technologii' will include all papers in Polish while 'Projects and Accounting' will consist of papers submitted in English. The annual PDD, scheduled for 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., is one of the PMI Dallas Chapter’s largest and most popular events, normally attracting around 300 participants.
