Call for Papers: APM 2008 Project Management Conference Reported by Miles Shepherd in the UK ![]() The conference panel invites executives, project managers and PM professionals to take part in developing the national and international project management agenda by contributing a presentation to the conference. This will be an interactive forum bringing together project management professionals and decision makers across the public and private sectors If you would like the chance to join the project management debate as a speaker at the APM Project Management Conference, then submit an outline of your presentation to the Conference panel. The outline should be no more than 250 words and submitted in PDF, Word, or Power Point format. Actual presentation slots will be 20 minutes long with an extra 10 minutes for questions, answers and debate. The deadline for papers is 30th April 2008; send your outline to conference@apm.org.uk. Call for Speakers - PMI Honolulu Chapter + Lavacon Professional Development Summit in November 2008 The Project Management Institute (PMI) Honolulu Chapter is excited to announce the Call for Speakers for a Professional Development Summit to be held 6-8 November 2008 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The conference, to be co-hosted by Lavacon®, will present proven best practices in the fields of project management and technical communications as well as innovative techniques for meeting challenges that professionals face in today’s world. The conference will be held at the Marriott Honolulu Waikiki hotel (pictured). ![]() The conference is for professionals who want continuing education on how to manage projects, stay current on the latest management and communication tools and technology, and develop “soft skills” in areas such as leadership, conflict management, contract and workplace negotiation skills, etc.
Speaker slots are limited and more proposals are anticipated than will be accepted, so do not spend too much time on the initial proposal—just a summary (a paragraph and a few bullets) to start. Speakers whose topics make the “short list” will be asked to provide a more detailed proposal. Presentations on any of the following topics are invited:
