Call for papers - AIPM National Project Management Conference in Tasmania, October 2007

 

The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is calling for abstracts for its National 2007 Conference titled “Project Management: Setting the Standard”. AIPM’s 2007 conference will be held from Sunday 7 October to Wednesday 10 October 2007 in Hobart, Tasmania..

The conference venue is the Hotel Grand Chancellor, in Sullivans Cove, which is the waterfront precinct of Hobart. Tasmania is a great location in which to extend your stay. The AIPM website will have suggested itineraries for pre or post-conference tours. We hope to offer attractive tour and conference packages so you can piggyback a short holiday on to this event.AIPM is seeking submissions for full papers, panels/workshops, and poster presentations.

According to David Baccarini, who has acted as head of peer review, and is Associate Professor Project Management at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, there are two types of papers accepted for presentation at the AIPM conference. The first type is the typical “non-refereed” conference presentations. The second type is “refereed” papers which are reviewed by a panel and are generally based on the outcomes of academic research.

“The refereed section of the conference provides an excellent opportunity for academics and students to showcase their work,” Baccarini said. The submission deadline is 30 March 2007. Abstracts of up to 500 words must be submitted via email to 2007papers@aipm.com.au in Word, RTF, or PDF format. Practices Seeks Proposals for Presentations
at 2007 PM Summits & Benchmarking Forums

 

The Center for Business Practices (CBP) is seeking presentation proposals for its 2007 Project management Summits and Benchmarking forums. Presenters will receive free admission and full expenses paid to the event. Proposals are being sought for presentations at the following events:

CBP Summit: Strategy & Projects, June 27-29, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale This CBP Summit will be an opportunity for senior-level portfolio, program, project and strategy management executives to examine and debate the most critical issues their organizations are facing today. Participants will discover cutting-edge best practices and lessons learned in managing strategy and projects - integrating strategy, portfolio, program, project and performance management - from management thought leaders and knowledgeable senior practitioners.

The forum involves a high degree of attendee participation. Participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback to case presenters, participate in breakout group discussions, and give reports back to the group at-large.

Presentations on the following topics are sought:

• Agile Project Management

• Measuring IT Performance

• IT Process Management (ITIL, CMMI, PMBOK)

SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT
CBP Summit presentations are 45 minutes; Benchmarking Forum presentations are 90 minutes (1 hour presentation and 30 minutes discussion). For consideration, please e-mail jpennypacker@cbponline.com. with the following information by 26 January 2007:

• Event Name (Summit, IT Forum, or Government Forum)

• Title of proposed presentation

• Speaker name, title/position, institution, and contact details (address, telephone, email address)

• An abstract of 200-300 words (in English)

• Short biography

Attendees at CBP events are senior practitioners responsible for their organization's portfolio and project management practices, including vice presidents, directors of project management and/or PMOs, and senior project managers.

Call for Papers & Participation -
EVM World 2007 Conference in Florida

 

BuThe College of Performance Management (CPM) of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) has issued its Call for Participation for its upcoming 23rd International Conference on Earned Value Management (EVM).

Billed as EVM World 2007, the conference is scheduled to be held in Clearwater Beach, Florida during 8-11 May 2007. The conference will include educational workshops, featured speakers, seminars, tools tracks, training seminars, vendor exhibition and networking opportunities.

Additional information on opportunities for project management experts and professionals worldwide to participate are summarized below:

Professional Education Training Seminars: Training Seminars are part of the Professional Education Program of PMI-CPM. Seminars include principles of Project Management, Schedule Management, Earned Value Management, EV Metrics and Analysis, Technical Management and Project Management Integration.
