![]() Billed as EVM World 2007, the conference is scheduled to be held in Clearwater Beach, Florida during 8-11 May 2007. The conference will include educational workshops, featured speakers, seminars, tools tracks, training seminars, vendor exhibition and networking opportunities. A 2nd Call for Papers has been issued by the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) for the 1st UTD Project Management Symposium, to be held during 6-7 August 2007 in Plano, Texas, USA. The conference is being sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management in the School of Management’s Executive Education Center at UTD, in cooperation with the Dallas Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and PMForum, Inc. Executives, project management professionals, project managers, researchers and graduate students are invited to submit abstracts for proposed papers and presentations for the August 2007 PM Symposium.

Call for Papers - AIPM National Project Management Conference in Tasmania, October 2007 The Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) is calling for abstracts for its National 2007 Conference titled “Project Management: Setting the Standard”. AIPM’s 2007 conference will be held from Sunday 7 October to Wednesday 10 October 2007 in Hobart, Tasmania.. The conference venue is the Hotel Grand Chancellor, in Sullivans Cove, which is the waterfront precinct of Hobart. Tasmania is a great location in which to extend your stay. The AIPM website will have suggested itineraries for pre or post-conference tours. We hope to offer attractive tour and conference packages so you can piggyback a short holiday on to this event.AIPM is seeking submissions for full papers, panels/workshops, and poster presentations. ![]() According to David Baccarini, who has acted as head of peer review, and is Associate Professor Project Management at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, there are two types of papers accepted for presentation at the AIPM conference. The first type is the typical “non-refereed” conference presentations. The second type is “refereed” papers which are reviewed by a panel and are generally based on the outcomes of academic research. “The refereed section of the conference provides an excellent opportunity for academics and students to showcase their work,” Baccarini said. The submission deadline is 30 March 2007. Abstracts of up to 500 words must be submitted via email to 2007papers@aipm.com.au in Word, RTF, or PDF format. Call for Papers - The New Zealand Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI®), PMI New Zealand, has issued a Call for Papers for their 2007 National Conference, to be held in Wellington, New Zealand during 17-19 October 2007. According to their website, PMI New Zealand will once again lead the evolution of project management awareness, networking and professional practice. The National Conference is now the well-established premier event in New Zealand’s project management calendar. Attendance this year is expected to be upwards of 350 delegates from within New Zealand and overseas. Call for Contributors University of Dallas & True Solutions The University of Dallas and True Solutions, Inc. have announced a new program to foster communication and interchange in project management in North Texas. The two organizations have teamed up to produce the “Project Management Lunch Series”, a series of lunchtime project management presentations and seminars. The first event was held on January 26, 2007. The lunchtime presentations are held at the University of Dallas’ Center for Professional Development, 2301 Ohio Drive in Plano, Texas. They are intended for project managers who are actively performing project management in some capacity, students in professional development programs and other individuals who are interested in learning about project management. Project Management Professionals (PMP’s) who want to interact with their peers, share ideas, or learn new information about specialized areas of project management are also welcome to attend and encouraged to participate as contributors. UD/TSI is seeking qualified contributors for this event. Each contributor must be a PMP certified Project Manager or a PGmP certified Program Manager. Each presentation should be planned for one hour and should be on a current, important or unique project management subject. Specialized project management subjects are acceptable and encouraged. What is in it for the Contributors? Contributors can earn valuable Professional Development Units for creating and presenting a formal presentation on project management. And, each contributor also gets the opportunity to talk about their views or specialties in project management and the opportunity to interact with their peers.
