Introduction to the Book

The book Managing Web Projects is a practical tool for entry-level project managers as well as for experienced project managers. It offers a step-by-step guide for managing a project throughout its lifecycle from initiating through its closing activities. And, while the author’s primary focus is to manage web-related projects, one can apply the principles to a broader spectrum of projects including non-technology projects.

Overview of Book’s Structure

The book is organized into four sections: a guide to managing a web project, instructions for developing a project quality system, a section of project management templates and, a section for technical and project management glossaries.

The guide to managing a web project is a shorter version of the Project Management Institute’s Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). It provides the reader with a basic understanding of what a project is, its key elements, and outlines key phases from presenting the project concept all the way through transferring the project to the ongoing support of the realized solution. In my opinion, the first three chapters provide the project management fundamentals or PM101 basics. opinion, the first three chapters provide the project management fundamentals or PM101.
