Introduction

Business Driven PMO Setup by Mark Price Perry is written in collaboration with over twenty contributors with practical experience, knowledge and impressive credentials.  My purpose for reviewing this book was to gain a different perspective, from the typical IT Project Management Office (PMO) implementation that is theory based and project driven to a PMO established with a business focus.

Overview of Book’s Structure

The intent of the Business Driven PMO Setup is to provide guidance on how a PMO should be created and driven by the business which it supports, being defined by a mission, goals and clearly defined objectives.  Chapter topics cover PMO issues, considerations, tool, and tips and techniques, along with study questions and case studies provided to include real-world examples.  Each chapter includes a summary, chapter questions and additional references.

Executive Insights offer real-world case studies from various companies with evaluation of the case, problems and recommendations.
