This book teaches you how to manage projects using Microsoft Project 2007, Standard version for stand-alone application. The target audience for the book is Project Managers who use the software on a day-to-day basis, people who schedule and manage a single project, students, and professors at colleges and universities. The book is also used for certification courses by International Institute for Learning, Inc. The book is aligned with the Project Management Institute’s Guide to theProject Management Body of Knowledge (“PMBOK”) – Third Edition.

The author is a certified project management professional (“PMP”) and has extensive experience in project management consulting and training.  He is also a professor at La Salle University in Mexico City

Jeff Werner, MBA, JD, PMP, PSP, CCM, CFCC specializes in project controls, contract administration and dispute resolution. Since 1974 his construction experience has included project management, construction management, program management and dispute resolution services on a wide variety of construction programs and projects. He has held positions as Quality Control Inspector/Manager, Project Safety Representative, Contract Administrator, Resident Engineer, Project Scheduler, Project Controls Manager, Director of Project Planning and Scheduling, Assistant Vice President of Claims, Program Claims Manager, and Claims Consultant. Mr. Werner has prepared and defended against a variety of construction claims for owners, contractors and surety insurance companies on private and municipal projects such as academic facilities, commercial and retail buildings, power plants, industrial facilities, water and wastewater plants, prisons, airports, hotels and resorts, hospitals, light rail and transit facilities, highways and bridges. He has performed cost and schedule analysis demonstrating delay, disruption, acceleration, as well as performing damage and loss of productivity calculations, as-built schedule reconstruction, issue and entitlement identification and analysis, document control and organization during claims development and discovery process. Mr. Werner has provided expert witness support services for negotiation, mediation, arbitration and state and federal court regarding construction dispute matters. Mr. Werner is experienced in claims presentations and settlement negotiations during the dispute resolution process including preparation of courtroom exhibits.   He has a BBA, Business Management, Northwood University, Cum Laude, 1996; MBA, University of Texas, Dallas, 2003; Masters Certificate in Project Management, University of Texas, Dallas, 2003; and a JD, Concord Law School, Los Angeles, CA, 2006.  His international studies include ESC Lille, Paris, France – Project Management (2003) and INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France – International Management  (2002).  Jeff is a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) College of Scheduling; Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), American Bar Association (ABA), and the Forensic Expert Witness Association (FEWA).
