Introduction to the Book
This book takes the reader through a historical survey of Internet technologies, how these technologies can be used to manage projects and how these technologies can be leveraged as part of a product offering.
Case studies are then introduced to provide the reader an understanding of how internet technologies can be leveraged for improved productivity, examples of internet technologies to provide access to information and content in parts of the world with limited bandwidth. The final case introduces the reader to Internet Cache considerations along with new technologies that may change the Internet content landscape.
The final section of the book focuses the reader on ROI considerations to leverage Internet technologies as part of the internal productivity improvements or product features. The reader is provided a series of considerations a company should consider then using Internet technologies as part of the product offering, from back office to customer facing security considerations.
