New VP Special Programs
August 12th, 2010 - Mr. Aldo Barreto, PMP, was appointed as new Vice President of Special Programs of PMI Santiago Chile Chapter. Mr. Aldo Barreto, civil engineer, M.Sc., has over 15 years of experience in project management, mainly from mining supply chain industry.

Courses: 10% Discount for Members
Good news for members of PMI Santiago Chile Chapter. As part of an agreement with UC Irvine Extension of the prestigious University of California, PMI members can access a 10% discount on registration for courses. These correspond to those programs that will be offered for fall 2010 in the university.

Jaime Videla, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in Santiago, Chile. Mr. Videla is also the Managing Director for Videla Consultores in Santiago, Chile, a firm that specializes in PMO development, claims management coaching and project management consulting services. He is also Founder and Managing Director of AccuFast! Cubicaciones, a back office services company offering BluePrint Estimates. Mr. Videla was previously a Senior Project Manager for Siemens, and Senior Project Manager for ABB. He has over 20 years of project management experience, on over US$222 million of utilities, industry and mining projects. Mr. Videla has professional training in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Germany. He serves as Vice President of Communications and Advertising of PMI Santiago Chile Chapter; he has been an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) since 2006 and received his project management professional (PMP®) certification in 2007. He has also been an instructor of project management courses for RMC Project Management®, through its Chilean representative, and for the PMI Santiago Chile Chapter. Jaime has formal studies in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Chile in Santiago (1980). His areas of activity today include PMO development, claims and risk management, and project management training (including PMP exam preparation). In addition, he works as volunteer at the Fundación Trascender, an innovative institution that manages a network of volunteer professionals through social projects.
