Paulig coffee roastery, fourth largest globally, nears completion
Paulig coffee roastery project, one of the largest coffee roastery projects in recent history, is nearing completion in Helsinki, Finland. Gustav Paulig Ltd expects the new facility, fourth largest globally as measured by production capacity, to become fully operation by the end of 2009. The total investment amounts to nearly 120 million €. The first coffee from the new roastery is expected in July 2009.
The coffee roastery project provides new facilities for both production and offices in the vicinity of the Vuosaari harbor, which was completed at the end of 2008. All offices and operations will be transferred from the old facility, located only some kilometers away, to the new one during 2009. Once completed and fully operational, the roastery will have an annual production capacity of over 40 million kilograms, which equals 80 million one-half-kilogram standard packages of coffee per year.
