PMI Chapter News
Yes, Ecuador has a chapter. PMI approved the formation of the chapter and has been denominated “Potential Chapter”. At the moment, the steering team is in the final stages of a legal constitution, corporate branding and planning next events.
One of the main activities is related to professional services. During this year, the Potential Chapter has organized paper-based test (PBT) for the PMP ® and CAPM certifications ®. Additionally, by mid-year, the Chapter is planning to organize a national event with lectures and forums.
The Potential Chapter in Ecuador aims to promote and propagate the profession of Project Management in the community, the public and private sectors.

Irwin José Franco
Irwin José Franco is a Project Manager at Image Tech, a leading web and multimedia solutions company based in Guayaquil - Ecuador. José has a B.A. in Visual Communications from Universidad San Francisco de Quito - Ecuador, and a Master degree in Project Management from Universidad La Salle, Madrid - Spain. He has more than 8 years of experience managing technological projects in the private sector. At the moment, he is working in the creation of the PMI Ecuador Chapter, and his main objective is to promote Project Management profession in his country.
