Caja Sol Studies’ Institute coordinated a Project Management Day for the Construction Sector

During difficult financial times Project Management, that has become more and more popular in Andalucía, is a key discipline to become business efficient and effective. Cajasol Studies Institute, located at the Old Cartuja in Tomares (Sevilla), celebrated on Friday May the 8th, one day focused on project Management, counting on AEDIP (Asociación Española de Dirección Integrada de Proyectos), the Spanish Industrial Engineering Professional Association (C.O.I.I.A.Oc), the Spanish Architects Professional Association (COAS) and the FIDAS Foundation.

Project Management is a discipline based on resources administration and organization to achieve all the project objectives and requirements on time, scope, and cost; and the strategy, planning, control and evaluation, are the basic concepts that are proposed to deal with this uncertain economic phase. At the current difficult times, Project Management, more and more frequently used in Andalucia, may be the key to achieve management efficiency and effectivity. These subjects were the focus of that event, where the AEDIP President, Jordi Seguró, presented Project management as the indispensable tool for all investment projects

Alfonso Bucero, DEA, PMP, is an International Correspondent for PMForum and PM World Today in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Bucero is also founder and Managing Partner of BUCERO PM Consulting. Alfonso was the founder, sponsor and president of the PMI Barcelona Chapter until April 2005, and belongs to PMI’s LIAG (Leadership Institute Advisory Group). Now he is the President of the PMI Madrid Spain Chapter. Alfonso has a Computer Science Engineering degree from Universidad Politécnica in Madrid and is studying for his Ph.D. in Project Management. He has 29 years of practical experience and is actively engaged in advancing the PM profession in Spain and throughout Europe.
