Project Management in Ecuador

Constitution of the PMI® Ecuador Chapter
On Thursday, June 25 was held in Quito - Ecuador, the legal constitution of the PMI® Ecuador Chapter. The event was attended by the founding members and professionals involved in the project management community.
During the ceremony, 42 founding members signed the Act of Constitution of the Chapter. The legal statutes were also approved and the Board of Directors was elected.
According to Enrique Ledesma PMP®, the initiative to create the chapter began in 1997 when Bill Ruggles, president of PMI at the time, visited Ecuador. The chapter has achieved four steps of five set by the PMI®. The current status is called “potential” chapter. The official launch is scheduled for September 17.

Irwin José Franco is a Project Manager at Image Tech, a leading web and multimedia solutions company based in Guayaquil - Ecuador. José has a B.A. in Visual Communications from Universidad San Francisco de Quito - Ecuador, and a Master degree in Project Management from Universidad La Salle, Madrid - Spain. He has more than 8 years of experience managing technological projects in the private sector. At the moment, he is working in the creation of the PMI Ecuador Chapter, and his main objective is to promote Project Management profession in his country.
