APM Launch Scotland's first Professional Development Conference
Reported by Miles Shepherd in UK
APM's
Scotland Branch has announced a one day conference on Earned Value
Management and Risk Management. This is the first such professional
development conference in Scotland and has been organised in
conjunction with APM's Earned Value Specific Interest Group (SIG) and
the APM Risk SIG. The packed and interactive day is aimed at both the
individual project professionals and corporate bodies. The event will
be in Glasgow on 5 March 2009.
Many
of the SIG's key members will be taking part to explain the new range
of specialist booklets launched at the APM Conference in October last
year. It is expected that the new APM publication on Earned Value will
be a central topic. Other topics include:
-
Introduction to Earned Value Management
-
Interfacing Risk and Earned Value Management
-
Case Study - Application of Earned Value Management to Type 45 Destroyer Programme
-
Introduction to Risk Management
-
The practical application of Schedule Risk Analysis
-
Earned Schedule
In
addition to the formal presentations, there will be a number of
facilitated discussion sessions. These will give delegates an
opportunity to ask questions, join in discussion and share experiences
with SIG members and other delegates. If you are new to the field,
these sessions will help you gain a better understanding of the
fundamentals of Earned Value Management and Risk Management and its
practical applications and benefits. If you are experienced, the
conference will help you stay abreast of new developments and give you
a chance to impact evolving trends - your input might just make the
difference.
