A 1^st Announcement and Call for Papers has been issued for the 7^th International Cost Engineering Council World Congress and 14^th Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors Congress to be held in Singapore during 21-26 May 2010. The congress theme is "Sustainable Cost Management: Borderless Innovation".

According to the announcement, "the role of the cost engineer and quantity surveyor (CEQS) have been changing since the last decade. These roles have been entrenched in every construction project and have developed into value adding and even environmental saving responsibilities."

The conference will address the development and contribution of the CEQS in the realm of Sustainable Construction, knowledge management, advancement in Construction Law and Alternate Dispute Resolution, as well as innovation in construction cost management. Suggested topics include sustainable, cost & contracts, knowledge management, IT, standards, construction law, alternate dispute resolution, property facilities management, safety and innovation.
