Introduction to the Book
The authors focus on how the changing economic climate requires Project Managers to think beyond the traditional triple constraints of time, cost, and quality. They suggest project success is only achieved when planned business values are met.
The authors suggest using best practices and benchmarking to facilitate creation of additional value in efficiency, customer satisfaction, and enhanced products/services.
Overview of Book’s Structure
This book was written in a “PowerPoint slide with notes” format. Each page had a summary diagram on the left with more detailed discussion of the subject on the right.
Highlights: What I liked!
The authors’ discussions on managing projects based on value were thought provoking. Perceived value from an internal and external customer point of view is essential for success. They discuss a number of high profile projects considered successful today by its customers that were considered significant failures at completion from a time/cost/quality standpoint…
