IPMA 26th World Congress on Project Management to be in Athens in November 2012

A major announcement was made on 31 May, at the conclusion of the Greek Project Management Association's 5th Scientific Conference on Project Management (SCPM), also known as PM05. The PM05 conference was held during 29-31 May at the Mövenpick Resort and Thalasso Hotel near the Greek city of Heraklion, on the Mediterranean island of Crete. Professor John-Paris Pantouvakis, PM05 conference chair, announced that IPMA's 26th World Congress on Project Management will be held in Athens in November 2012, in combination with the Greek Project Management Associations 6th Scientific Conference on Project Management - PM06.

According to Professor Pantouvakis, pictured above with IPMA president Brigitte Schaden and PM Greece leaders at the PM05 conference in Greece, "IPMA's World Congress is IPMA's big flagship event each year, and one of the most important in the world. Now it will come to Greece for the first time. This is an exciting development; we at PM Greece are honored and happy to invite project management leaders and professionals around the world to visit Athens in two years for this global event."

IPMA's 24th World Congress on Project Management will be in Istanbul, Turkey during 1-3 November 2010. Information can be found at www.ipma2010.com. The 25th IPMA World Congress on Project Management will be in Brisbane, Australia in 2011. More information about the 26th IPMA World Congress in Athens will be available soon.

PM-05: Advancing Project Management for the 21st Century, the fifth Project Management Conference in Greece, with the theme "Concepts, Tools & Techniques for Managing Successful Projects" was held during 29-31 May 2010 on the Mediterranean island of Crete. PM-05 was organized by the Centre for Construction Innovation, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), in cooperation with the Network of Project Managers in Greece (PM-Greece) and the Scientific Association for the Advancement of Project Management in Greece. http://www.pmgreece.gr/. Conference Chair was Dr. John - Paris Pantouvakis, Associate Professor, Director of the Department of Construction Engineering & Management, Faculty of Civil Engineering, NTUA, Athens, Greece. Prof. Pantouvakis is also president of PM-Greece and can be contacted at jpp@central.ntua.gr.
