Survey on Social Media for Project Managers Announced

Elizabeth Harrin, project management author and consultant who is best known for her Girls Guide to Project Management blog from the UK, is researching a book on the use of social media for project managers. The book is expected to be published by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). She is seeking people with social media stories to share.

According to Ms. Harrin (pictured), "I'm currently running a survey of project managers to gather some empirical research for the book, and I would also like to hear from project managers about their own experiences of working with social media tools to improve their PM practices.

"The survey is 9 questions and takes less than 5 minutes. The results will appear on the blog and will probably get a mention in the book too," she added. "I'm also interested in hearing from those who have experiences they would like to share that might make interesting case studies on the uses of social media for project teams."

The survey is available online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/B6JVSY9, and there is more about it on Elizabeth's blog at
http://www.pm4girls.elizabeth-harrin.com/2010/01/social-media-for-project-managers-survey/  which also has a contact link if people want to add more details or share their own experiences with social media. The survey will run until the end of January.
