Mr Jarmo Suominen, BSc (Eng.), 50, has been appointed Neste Jacobs' new Managing Director. Mr Suominen assumes the position on February 1st 2010.

Mr Suominen served as the President of Chemical Process Industry business area in Pöyry Industry Ltd since 2007. Prior to this Mr Suominen has served as the Vice President of the Pöyry Forest Industry business group in charge of Project Management services. Before this Mr Suominen has held several senior management positions in numerous Finnish and global companies.

Mr Lars Peter Lindfors, Senior Vice President, Technology and Strategy, Neste Oil Ltd says "Mr Suominen's wide-ranging business experience, including 12 years in the Middle East, makes him an excellent choice for leading Neste Jacobs as it continues to move ahead with its new strategy. His strong international background and experience in engineering and project management provide an excellent basis for success. I'm also more than happy that the current acting Managing Director, Mr Tom Främling will continue with us. Under his leadership, Neste Jacobs has gone through substantial change and has taken a major step toward achieving its goal of being a leading provider of engineering, technology and project services."

Mr Suominen is very excited about the opportunity to lead Neste Jacobs, commenting "Neste Jacobs has a unique and complete service offering portfolio in oil refining and chemical process industry starting from technology development to upscaling and all the way to complete EPCM (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) service deliveries. This enables Neste Jacobs to be competitive in both greenfield and revamp / debottlenecking projects. In addition to complete project deliveries Neste Jacobs is a strong partner in FEED (Front End Engineering Design) and PMC (Project Management Consultancy). Ideal composition of ownership gives Neste Jacobs an excellent opportunity to further develop its operations as a leader in the selected areas of industry" Mr Suominen concludes. Mr Suominen is known as a strong change agent, as well as a straightforward and fair leader who does not hesitate to make difficult decisions or go into details as necessary.
