Hoffman to Keynote APM Conference![]() The Association for Project Management, APM, has announced that Dr Edward Hoffman (left) will provide a keynote address at their 2009 Conference scheduled for Wednesday, 21st October 2009 at The Brewery in London. Dr Hoffman is widely recognised as an outstanding advocate for project management and well known in his professional capacity as Director NASA Academy of Program, Project and Engineering Leadership in the USA. He will be addressing 'Challenges to the Profession'.
The conference opens with an influential keynote address. Prof Darren Dalcher, of the National Centre for Project Management at Middlesex University, will then chair Question Time with the theme of 'Priorities for the profession' featuring Mike Nichols, APM chairman and Nigel Smith, of the UK's Office of Government Commerce. The event will then split into multiple streams - providing delegates complete flexibility with regards to the sessions they attend. Sessions cover the following:
Communication Chaired by Adrian Dooley Information management for major projects - Dr Sarah Bowden, Arup Communicating with stakeholders - Joe Harley, Department for Work and Pensions Other presentations from: Donnie MacNicol, APM People SIG Professionalism and ethics Ethics and professionalism - Alistair Godbold Approach to project management and developing capability - Dolores Reeve, EDF Project manager leadership in a credit crunch - Gareth Mills, MWH Starting projects well Chaired by Mary McKinlay Starting projects and programmes well and how to get the value from them - Howard Dickel, BT Paul Mansell, Director, Moorhouse Consulting Improving project initiation - Bob Assirati, OGC ![]() Photo courtesy BBC News The final session is introduced by Professor Darren Dalcher who chairs a leadership in action session featuring former England cricket captain Graham Gooch OBE and the world renowned Endellion String Quartet
